A Promise before God
We joyfully invite you
to our wedding
19 December 2026
at three o’clock in the afternoon
Igreja Santo Antônio da Barra
Salvador, Brazil
The Baptism of Louis James
This day holds not one blessing, but two. Directly after our wedding ceremony, our son Louis James will be baptised in the same church, before the same altar, surrounded by our family and closest friends.
The Celebration
As evening falls, we will make our way to Restaurant Manga in Rio Vermelho, around 15 minutes from the church. Set in a restored townhouse with a terrace overlooking the ocean, Manga was named Restaurant of the Year in Brazil’s Northeast and felt like the perfect setting for an intimate celebration in Salvador.
We will gather here for dinner, caipirinhas and live music as the warmth and rhythm of Bahia carry us into the night.
For our little guests, there will be a dedicated children’s room, a comfortable space where they can play, take a break and retreat for a little quiet time whenever they need it.
Location & Travel
Getting around: Taxis and Uber are reliable and inexpensive in Salvador. We recommend Uber between the church and the reception.
Where to stay: Barra and Rio Vermelho are both wonderful bases, close to the venues and the ocean.

A desert, an ocean, and a church
Our story started with a knock on the door. Illy came to look at a room in Andreas's shared flat in Berlin, and stayed. Before long we had a place of our own, completely, helplessly fallen for each other.
Ever since, our story has carried us halfway around the world.
First to the dunes of Oman. On 29 December 2022, as the desert turned gold in the last light of the year, one of us asked a question and the other said yes.
Nine months on, barefoot in the sands of Tahiti, we made it official: a civil ceremony on 19 September 2023, just the two of us, the ocean, and a promise. And baby Jamie was already on the way.
Now we would love you to be there for the moment that promise is blessed before God, at our church wedding in Salvador.
Berlin gave us our beginning, Oman our question, Tahiti our answer. Salvador will give us our blessing, and you will make it complete.
Tropical Black Tie
WHAT TO WEAR
Inspired by the tropical beauty of Bahia, we invite you to embrace elegant, light, and sophisticated attire in soft, natural tones. For gentlemen, a suit or tuxedo; for ladies, an elegant dress.
Our wedding colours are shown as gentle inspiration:
A Note on Gifts
If you would like to honor our wedding and Louis James’s baptism with a gift, we would be very grateful for a contribution towards our family’s future.
Come celebrate with us
One day, one church, and one family bound together in faith and love. We could not imagine a more beautiful way to open our next chapter, and there is no one we would rather share it with than you.
Salvador is a long way to travel, and we know what it means to make that journey. Thank you for coming. Thank you for being part of the story that brought us here.
With all our love,
Iliana, Andreas & Louis James
